Notes from the Path #15

For the last decade or so, the online critique of mainstream culture, especially on Twitter, and ESPECIALLY on right wing Twitter, has been trenchant and relentless. 

A lot of it has been deserved. Mainstream American culture has been decaying for decades and, admittedly, there is a lot of rot to be cleared out.

The apex of this criticism has, no doubt, been the adoption of the term “normies” into mainstream culture.  “Normies” as a term of derision for those who unquestioningly complied with every cultural narrative and whim emerged years ago in online discourse, but only recently did I catch it turning up on Fox News.
